Landscape Ecology proposal for Surrey, BC

This poster was a response to a project prompt in an urban design class to apply a planning concept (landscape ecology) to an assigned study area (Scott Road in Surrey, BC). Working in a large team of nine, we identified the key approach of reconnecting isolated ecological habitats, in order to build climate resilience, enhance local ecosystems and improve human-nature interactions, through strategies such as using a rail trail and natural crossings, re-wilding backyards, rain gardens and vertical greenery. We represented this in a poster format to convey our analysis and showcase proposed interventions.

As a large, open-ended team project, this poster required constant discussion and collaboration to synthesise ideas from each of the nine team members and develop our final product. I generated the GIS maps that underpin the team’s analysis, and contributed significantly to the overall poster layout.
