Acadia Park urban design concept - Neighbourhood Living Room

This urban design concept, in response to a prompt to propose urban design improvements for our immediate neighbourhoods, was drawn up for the neighbourhood of Acadia Park at UBC, where I lived for a year. Through an analysis of the existing site context, distribution of amenities and key neighbourhood characteristics, I identified four potential improvements and proposed a “neighbourhood living room” concept that would lead to a denser and more liveable community. This set of slides uses a mix of references from around the world, as well as some sketches of proposed interventions, to put the concept across.
